Mission Statement- The Women’s Prayer Ministry exists to serve Westwood by interceding on behalf of the needs of our Church Body, our local Community, our Nation and the lost throughout the World!
Our scripture mandate for prayer comes from 1 Timothy 2:1-4:
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone -
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all Godliness and
holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.”
Prayer Ministry Opportunities include:
1. Attend a Prayer Ministry training class.
2. Serve on a Worship Service Prayer Team which consists of 2 women praying for the needs of the church during the Sunday morning Worship service.
3. Attend regular prayer meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month.
4. Help and participate in the prayer vigils held at WBC during the year.
5. Be available to pray for women and their families in our church who request special prayer.
6. Participate in occasional prayer walks for our church and schools in our community.
